“We are devastated to lose our mentor, colleague, and cherished friend, Congressman Jim Kolbe,” said Keith Allred, executive director of the National Institute for Civil Discourse. Kolbe had served as a board member of NICD.
Congressman Kolbe was a true champion for Arizona and for the country. Reflecting on his life and impact, Allred said that Kolbe, “fully embodied the critical values of civil discourse and bipartisanship needed to drive meaningful change in Washington.”
These reflections make clear his incredible impact and mentorship persist, particularly in the new generation of leaders called to public service. May we all cherish his wisdom and may we live by his example.
