On Wednesday, June 2, two distinguished U.S. Representatives joined us in a live event on Zoom to discuss the results from the work of our CommonSense American program on congressional reform.
More About the Event
Congressman Derek Kilmer (D-WA) is the Chair of the Select Committee on the Modernization of Congress and William Timmons (R-SC) is the Vice Chair. They described the Committee’s recommendations to foster greater bipartisanship and civility in Congress.
Then, Keith Allred, Executive Director of NICD, announced the results from our CommonSense American members reviewing our Congressional Reform brief and registering their views. The brief described the Select Committee’s recommendations.
Chair Kilmer and Vice Chair Timmons then commented on our findings and took questions.
“Reforms to Foster Bipartisanship and Civility in Congress” is an America’s Public Forum event. The National Institute for Civil Discourse (NICD) is proud to co-sponsor with Braver Angels. This series explores how to depolarize America and engage our differences more constructively.
